Challenge

A large European steel producer modernised its blast furnaces. The goal was the comprehensive integration of new control systems – including dismantling, rebuilding and commissioning within just 120 days, to avoid long downtimes. Preparation alone took around a year.

Our contribution

Our teams worked into the plant directly on site. We produced the specifications, carried out the electrical engineering design in EPLAN and used our generator tool. A change management tool we developed ourselves ensured planning reliability and cost transparency throughout.

Result

The system migration of a plant with 11,000 measuring points, 850 drives and more than 220 control cabinets was completed within the extremely tight schedule. This significantly improved operational stability and the precision of production control, and created the basis for further optimisation.
