ELCAD design and legacy maintenance
ELCAD plants are still running everywhere - while the designers who can run the system grow fewer every year. Anyone with legacy plants documented in ELCAD faces a choice: find one of the last editors, or migrate. We offer both, and we say honestly which makes sense when.

One contact, not a distribution list
Whoever takes your project also works on it.
Your CAE system, not ours
EPLAN, WSCAD, ELCAD — with your part master.
Existing plants are our everyday work
Plant runs, documents do not match. That is where we start.
Capacity without a permanent post
Design capacity when you need it.
When this service is needed
- The last ELCAD expert in the company is retiring.
- Revisions to ELCAD plants have been piling up for years.
- An extension is due and nobody can continue the drawings.
- Migration is decided, but the stock must be maintained until then.
Result
- Editable, maintained ELCAD documentation
- Traceable revision states
- Designation system recorded in writing
- On migration: a structured EPLAN project, not an image copy
A migration is not an image conversion: tracing ELCAD sheets yields pictures in the new system - without article references, without reports, without added value. The value comes from structured re-engineering.
Process
How we work together
- 01
Review the stock
Which plants, what state, which system. You receive an honest assessment of what maintenance achieves and where migration is more economical.
- 02
Onboarding
We adopt the system we find and document it - often in writing for the first time.
- 03
Maintenance in rhythm
Changes are reported and incorporated, with traceable revision states instead of red pen in the cabinet.
- 04
Perspective
Once a year, the open question: does ELCAD still carry, or does the switch pay off? You decide on figures, not out of necessity.
Questions about this service?Show contact

We continue ELCAD projects: revisions, changes, extensions and the ongoing maintenance of legacy documentation. Your plant stays editable without you paying for a migration for every terminal change.
With legacy systems, care at the start counts double: we adopt the designation system we find and document its state instead of modernising it on the side. ELCAD documentation kept consistent over decades is worth more than a half-converted one.
When migration becomes worthwhile, we tell you unprompted - for instance when extensions are due that cost more in the old system than the switch, or when licences expire. The transfer to EPLAN is then no image conversion but a structured re-engineering: with article references, check runs and a list of deviations between drawing and plant.
Until then: well-maintained ELCAD documentation is not a technical risk. The risk arises when nobody is left who can run it - and that is exactly the gap we close, permanently under a maintenance agreement if you wish.
Frequently asked
You really still work actively in ELCAD?
Yes. ELCAD has been one of our design systems since our founding in 1998, and some of our customers document their legacy plants in it to this day. Maintaining these stocks is everyday work for us, not an exception.
Do we have to migrate to EPLAN in the medium term?
Not necessarily. As long as the documentation is maintained and editors are available, an ELCAD plant runs on stably. The question arises anew when large extensions are due or licences expire - then we calculate both paths openly, because we offer both.
What does it cost if changes have been left for years?
That depends on the backlog and starts with a survey: drawings checked against the plant, a list of deviations, an effort estimate. After that you know what the catch-up costs - before the order, not after.
