Large-scale series heat pumps using natural refrigerants

Challenge

A leading manufacturer of refrigeration and air conditioning systems planned to introduce new large-scale series heat pumps. Substantial development involvement was sought for the control systems of these heat generators.

Our contribution

Our specialists were significantly involved in developing the controls: detailed planning of sensors, actuators and control logic, accompanied by precise documentation in EPLAN and extended by cable routing with EPLAN Harness proD and EPLAN Pro Panel.

With series products, electrical engineering design also places great emphasis on making production more efficient – while complying with the applicable standards, in this case the household appliance standards EN 60335-1 and EN 60335-2-40. We were able to support our customer considerably with CE certification, particularly with LVD and EMC testing.

Result

High-performance, precise and energy-efficient control systems were realised. Production was considerably optimised through precisely assembled cable and wire sets. This laid the basis for the successful series sales of the new large heat pumps.
